Working Session #3, Examining U.S. Freshwater Systems and Services –
Agriculture and Food Production, focused on identifying opportunities and
potential solutions for addressing challenges at the intersection of freshwater
and agriculture, including water quantity and water quality challenges and
cross-cutting issues. The discussion was specifically focused on achieving the
following objectives:
• Define water resilience in the context of the agricultural and food
production sector.
• Clarify our understanding of the challenges that exist at the
intersection of US freshwater systems and agricultural practices.
• Identify priorities that need to be included in a national agenda
for more resilient freshwater systems that also address our needs
for food production.
