The Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre (MCDC) was established in 1993 under a ten-year agreement among the Government of Canada, the Government of Manitoba, and Manitoba Horticulture Productivity Enhancement Centre Inc. (MHPEC). A new four-year agreement was struck among the same partners for continued operation of the Centre until 2008, under the name Canada-Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre (CMCDC).
