Ecologically Sustainable Development

The Department of the Environment and Heritage consists of the Director of National Parks, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator, the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust. Its agencies, the Australian Greenhouse Office, the commonwealth Bureau of Meterology, and the National Oceans Office, are responsible for the protection and conservation of the environment, the advancement of Australia’s interests in the fields of meteorology, and the advancement of Australia’s interests in Antartica.
