The document is an annual report of the activities of the MIT Nepali Water Project. The purpose of the project is to improve drinking water quality in Nepal through reduction in contamination of pathogens and arsenic. The major project activities are evaluation of water testing technology to detect contaminants, including finding indicator species for microbial contamination, and investigation of purification technologies that are feasible in a low income region.
